Local specificities also include impermeable bedrock and high levels of precipitation. All of this has contributed to the evolution of the extensive peat bogs.<\/p><p>Three kilometres from <strong>Kvilda<\/strong> you reach the heart of the fen of <strong>Jezern\u00ed sla\u0165<\/strong> via a wooden walkway.<\/p><p>Features demonstrating the harsh local conditions include the lowest temperature ever measured: -41.6 \u00b0C (1987).<\/p><p>Picturesque mountain settlements include <strong>Horsk\u00e1 Kvilda<\/strong> and <strong>Filipova Hu\u0165<\/strong> (green marks).
