Geological, pedologic, and geomorphologic conditions constitute essential prerequisites for the development of vegetation and the regime of ground and surface water.<\/p>

The bulk of the territory belongs to the geomorphological unit \u0160umava<\/strong> and partially to the \u0160umava Foothills<\/strong> (\u0160umavsk\u00e9 podh\u016f\u0159\u00ed<\/em>), being part of the \u0160umava uplands <\/strong>(\u0160umavsk\u00e1 hornatina<\/em><\/strong>)<\/strong>.<\/p>

\u0160umava is among the oldest mountain ranges of Central Europe. Rising from an altitude of around 700\u00a0m a.s.l., its highest peaks on the Bavarian side are in excess of 1400\u00a0m a.s.l.<\/p>

In the quaternary period, glaciers created morphologically significant cirques, most of them now filled with water. Certain other prominent land forms, such as frost cliffs, cliff faces, and slope boulder debris, come from the same period.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

  • \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/i>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe \u017delezn\u00e1 Ruda Uplands jet out to the northwest, while the frontier ridge of the Trojmez\u00ed Uplands and the inland ridge of the Boub\u00edn Uplands and the \u017delnava Uplands project to the southeast, divided by the wide Vltava Trench.<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
