What is a Emergency overnight campsite (EOC)?
The enclosed area is intended for legitimate emergency overnight stays in the territory of the Šumava National Park in compliance with specific conditions.
- Maximum capacity 5–10 tents / 10–20 persons (depending on location).
- Intended for individuals and small groups within individual hiking.
- Prohibited for commercial activities (organized tours, guides, etc.).
- Cannot be reserved, operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
- No drinking water available at the sites.
Operational rules for emergency overnight sites:

- Use the site for one night only.
- Do not make any fire (this includes all types of camping stoves).
- No smoking.
- Keep quiet.
- Take all your rubbish with you.
- Open all year from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m.
