IC Idina Pila

This seasonal visitor centre is located in the Šumava Protected Landscape Area near the village of Kaplice u Zátoně at the foot of Mt Boubín.

The exhibit focuses on the Boubín Mountains, the history of the Boubín region, the Boubín primary forest and other protected areas in the vicinity, the history of the timber industry in the Boubín area, the faunal and floral life of the region, and other interesting information.

There are a number of learning and discovery opportunities, including the use of audiovisual equipment for watching selected videos or listening to tall tales associated with the region.

Children will be surprised by figures of pixies.

During the high season, there is an outdoor screening area next to the entrance to the centre; it displays a video-loop alerting visitors to the risks of falling trees and calling for their increased attention so that they will be able to quickly spot the danger and avoid it.
