Abstract

The sawfly Pachynematus styx (Benson, 1958) was found in the Bohemian Forest (=Šumava Mts.), which is the first record in Bohemia (western part of the Czech Republic). P. styx is probably widespread throughout the area of Norway spruce (Picea abies) forests in Central Europe, although the abundance may be low.
